I was ATTACKED AND ASSAULTED. (Please Read.)

Tonight, I'm driving my girlfriend Nikki home from my place, and I'm just entering her neighborhood, which happens to be an upperclass neighborhood. I approach a stop sign, and as I'm approaching it (driving my Dad's 96' Blazer) there is two kids (ages 15-16?) walking in the middle of the road with beer bottles in their hands.

I avoid them, and drive by, heading towards the stop sign, and i hear a bang, like one of them had thrown a bottle at my fathers truck. I stop at the stop sign, and get out, and check the back of my truck for damages. The two kids then approach me and start threatening me, and pushing me, and why do I care? I mean, there little kids right? I have some words, and I push one em' back from me, and I start to go back to the drivers side of the truck., and as I'm getting in to the truck, one of the kids bottle me in the left temple. As I start to drive away he starts hitting the truck on the windows and paint with the bottle, until it breaks, which ended up chipping off paint in several places, and tint on the windows. I drive away as FAST as I can, while Nikki calls 911.

We arrange a place a couple blocks down the street to meet the police who are on their way. As I'm outside checking the damage, and the truck is off, a car pulls up with pack of kids in it. In this pack, was the orginal two kids who attacked me, and they all jump out and start running at me with stuff in their hands (couldn't tell what it was, could of been a bat, knife, more bottles). They yell "there they are! I'm gonna f**king kill them!" and stuff like that... so i'm pretty scared. So I jump in to the truck, and in split seconds, nikki starts the truck, while i try to put my window up and drive away at the same time.. i squel out of there, and they break the drives side window with whatever they were carrying.

At this point, I'm f**king scared shitless. I would of never expected something like this to happen, expecially from kids that age. It really opened my eyes.

So, anyway, I drive to a local gas station and we call 911 again, and update our story. I have decided to press charges and got to trial with these little fuckers, if the police can nab em. We wait at the gas station until the police come, and I submit my statement, so does Nikki, and I head home with a truck that must have at LEAST $1200 CDN damage to it.

So, that was about the scariest thing to happen to me. And I have a real nice sized lump on my head, and I can't even sleep without shaking. It's fucked up...

I don't know if any of you care... I just feel really scared right now, and I don't even know if this is place to let it out... but i don't know.. just wanna let it out.

We drove away (a couple of blocks), and they told us to stay where we were. They took about 15+ min to get there... way too long, I think. Epecially since we got attacked TWICE.

But seriously i think you did the right thing by trying to get away. If it goes to court they'd have nothing to press charges on. As for martial arts i think they'd let you watch classes and you can find one that suits your style. But yea...I think i would be pretty scared too. :(

I went through a freaky situation this past Friday night.

It was my friend Gina's birthday and we wanted to go to the Roxy for the celebration. I haven't seen her in months so it was a great idea to catch up and party.

On the way there her boyfriend Ryan (who is a big guy, 6'2", 220lbs) was already pretty drunk. What started as a petty argument between him and Gina on the way there ended up in a really scary situation.

On the way downtown we pulled up to a stop light and Gina asked Ryan politely if they could talk about their problem another time. Ryan said "Fuck this I'm outta here" and hopped out of the car while it was still in motion. He then walked down Granville raising his arms yelling "You wanna piece of me?" to any random pedestrian. We pulled over into a parking lot and Gina went after him. Me and my best friend Amanda stayed by the car cause we didn't want to get towed away.

Gina brought Ryan back towards the car and Ryan started mouthing off" Fine Honey! Take my wallet, take my credit cards I don't care!" As he was saying this he pulled out all his cash and cards from his wallet and threw them in the middle of the street. Amanda picked them up knowing he'd care about his finances in the morning.

Meanwhile Ryan began punching a wall and the parking lot ticket machine. he had a psychotic look in his eye that I will never forget. His eyes were as big as plates.
We tried to hold Ryan down and get him back in the car. Anyone concerned that walked by offering to help were immediately challenged by Ryan. I kept telling these good samaritans to just walk away and get out of here.

I guess someone was smart enough to call the cops cause they arrived and talked to Ryan. Suddenly he had his sense of humor again. The cops said that if he got in the car and went home they'd be happy. So we made Ryan get in the back seat with me (no way he was doing another tuck n' roll out of the car) and Gina and Amanda stayed in front with the doors locked.

As we were driving home, Ryan threatened that he was going to beat up Gina's ex-boyfriend. Gina hasn't had contact with her ex in over 6 months so we he brought him up was beyond us. So Ryan called up the ex, Kevin, and said he wanted to fight. This got Ryan all worked up again. I had to arm bar the bastard to prevent him from smashing the passenger window as he was trying to escape. Ryan said some really ugly things to Gina all night.

Then his story changed. He suddenly had to go to his friends house in Southwest Vancouver cause he was afraid his friend would kill himself. We were pretty skeptical about his story but we headed to that area anyway to shut him up. Finally we pulled over cause at this point Ryan was ready to shove his foot through the window of Gina's car. All night he was saying he was going to "snap".

Ryan jumped out and continued to rant and rave like a psycho unleashed. He jumped on Gina's hood of her car and stomped on it. He then headed for his "suicidal" friends apartment. He rang the buzzer and got no answer cause he wasn't home. He was still yelling away and the building manager came down and asked if he needed some help (in a psychological way) Ryan started to push his way through the building door but the manager wasn't going to let him in. Gina tried to pull him away back to the car but then he pushed her down. That was when I lost it.

I walked right up to him nose to nose and said something on the lines of: "Who the fuck do you think you are? If you are going to yell at someone then yell at me cause I can take it. If you want to hit someone then hit me because I am no different than any one else. You are acting like a 2 year old and you need to take a time out!" He tried to push me away as well but before he even laid his hands on me I put him in an arm bar and took him down to the grass. (NOTE: ARM BARS REALLY WORK WELL)
Gina jumped on his back cause she was worried he really was going to hit me.

At the same time an elderly man about 65 years was walking home from work (he had a security guard jacket on, that's how I knew). He shook his finger at Ryan and said "You need to settle down some son" as the elderly tend to chastise young punks - except Ryan was 27 going on 3. Ryan pushed Gina off his back and attacked the old man. He punched in in the face and then the hip. The old man stumbled but didn't fall. I bet he hasn't gotten hit like that since grade 8. Gina and Amanda got in Ryan's face and I immediately went over to the old man.

Ryan then walked across the street and as an SUV was slowly driving by, Ryan punched out the driver's side window, while the car was in motion. I took the old man's arm and walked him away from the scene.

The old man told me he lived a block away. I told him I would escort him home and asked him if he could call the police and report this. (I think another neighbor did the same). The poor man was limping and in shock. His skin went clammy and white. I tried to get him to sit down if walking was too much for him, but he said no. If he sits down he'll never get up again. Finally we made it (slowly but surely) to his apartment and we went up. I ran back to the scene and Gina and Amanda were there. Ryan apparently took off.

Just as I was heading towards them a couple cop cars came by. They were called in by the neighbors. So we spent another hour telling them the story and they got a hold of the old man. (He did call the cops as well) and they said he was okay, just really shooken up. Ryan was nowhere to be found so they couldn't detain him.

Afterwards, us three girls drove back to Gina's place and Ryan was already there. Apparently he took a cab home. The cab gave him a free ride cause Ryan was apparently so psycho in the cab that the driver just wanted to get him out of his car.

Ryan wasn't yelling, but he was talking and laughing like a crazy person. He took the ring he gave Gina off her finger and insisted she didn't care about him.

WTF!!!! Me and Amanda were in a bind. We wanted to stay to make sure Gina was okay since she didn't want to come to my place she just wanted to go home and that was understandable, but at the same time, it wasn't safe. But it felt like there wasn't anything we could do. He gave me and Amanda $20 to take a cab home and he passed out on the couch.

Me and Amanda took his money that we felt we earned and went to my place. After an hour Gina called me to say that Ryan broke their chandelier, his hand was bleeding, there was blood in their kitchen and that he took off again to find and beat up Kevin.

Would that night ever end? Gina said she was safe and I told her to call me if anything happens. I didn't have a car so I couldn't drive over there to check up on her.

Finally I got to go to sleep. It was late. All we wanted to do was celebrate Gina's birthday. We didn't even make it to the Roxy. Ryan called me yesterday to apologize but I wouldn't even talk to him. I have no respect for him now. You don't hit an innocent person, let alone a 65 year old man. You don't talk to people the way he did, especially ones you apparently love. You don't lay a finger on any women, especially your fiancee.

I always try to find the light in all situations, and the only one I found Friday night was that I got to do some martial arts self-defense moves and found they really work well on a guy who's 6'2", 220lbs and built like a Mack truck.

She didn't. But I think they are hoping to work things out somehow. They do love each other but when psychological problems like this happen one has to realise that they've done all they can do, there's simply no more they can do and it's not healthy or productive to try.

I suggested to Gina that Ryan needs professional help. Apparently this was the third time he went postal. he also has a two year old daughter that he gets partial custody from his ex. I told Gina that even though Ryan doesn't drink or act the fool when he's around his daughter, her safety still would concern me.

But if the old man presses charges, and Ryan gets charged with assault, he could lose all his custody rights of his daughter. You'd think he would've thought about that before he reacted the way he did. However, I can't support him in this. I don't know him that well and my impression obviously isn't a good one. I hope he gets better though.

I wouldn't say mentally, like a deficiency that can't be overcome - just psychologically.
But this guy needs a MAJOR heads up to tell him to look into changing his ways. Their mindset works as if to say "Well, at least I know no matter what happens, I'll still have her by my side" - unconditional commitment is BULLSHIT - if someone isn't aware that they can lose everything special to them, they take it for granted and get STUPID.

Some people just don't learn until they've lost everything.

I actually have an interesting story to share of pyscho bastards beating the crap out of a friend. I wasn't there at the time (thankfully), so what I know is kinda sketchy, but I'll try to relay as much as I can recall what my friends told me.

A group of my friends (named Raphael, Lars, David, William and Patrick) were taking a walk outside late at night. This usually isn't a problem, considering they live in Fairfield, Iowa, pop. 10,000, and home of the Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment (no shit). Anyway, as they were taking their walk and discussing random topics, a bunch of high-school aged football-players (at least that is what was assumed, given their attire and behavior) drove past and harrased them. They figure, no problem, just a bunch of punks, they won't be back.

But they were. About 10-15 minutes later, they drive by again and mock my friends. So Raphael (my best friend whom I have known since kindergarten) comes up wtih the idea to flip them off in unison. This is done, and the punks speed off jeering at my friends.

My friends are now seriously pissed, Lars especially, and expecting the suburben punks to drive by again. This happens. However, this time Lars yells back at them to mind their own fucking business. The punks didn't like that.

Now the report gets kinda sketchy. Apperently, the car comes to a halt, and a huge pycho football player comes flying out at insane speeds and pummels the shit out of Lars. Everyone said it happened way to fast to react, and Lars says he was on the ground before he knew what happened. The punk quickly gets back in the car and drives off.

A neihbor must have called the incident in, because less than a minute later a cop car came and asked about the incident. Lars gives them a full description of the events, and the police go out to look for them. Apparently, the punks were there for a football game against the Fairfield public school district and may have lost and were pissy about it (I'm not quite sure).

I don't think the cops ever found the people that attacked my friends. It's damn creepy though, knowing that in even a small, happy town like Fairfield people can get attacked at night like that.

BTW, Lars, Raph and co. are fine now. Raph and Lars are bothe CISCO certified too, which is cool cause neither is even 18 yet.

Look at it this way, When you carry a gun you focus on that one weapon.

If you know self defense (like martial arts) then you have at least 7 weapons that can be just as fast. Arms, hands, elbows, legs, knees, foot, head etc. Use these in combos and you can disarm and counter in split seconds.

I used to know some Tae Kwon Do, got up to black belt too, but that was years ago. Now if a guy held me up, I'd just give him my wallet, then kick him when he turns around. Or carry a big rock. Or not.

Raphael, mentioned above, has a solid steel quick-release baton that he uses now to defend himself. It's a good alternative to guns, as it's non-lethal and beats the carp out of peeps as well. He also has his steel juggling balls too; watching him beat the crap out of someone with those would just be funny.
