bahh, its taken me like the last 3 days to finnaly get cs 1.6 to work on my comp, i couldnt even play 1.5, ive even had 1.6 for a while, so i dont know why i had to go get some random update, which didnt work, then i just reinstalled it, and wala it FINALY works, now me and my clan gotta find a new way to set up admin and stuff on our server cause 1.6 doesnt use wonid's, and my friend matt was havin trouble setn up the account names to do admin, and he couldnt figure it out...

i think they should have left 1.6 as an optional update, not required...

What worked with WONids will soon work with SteamIDs, and things like adminmod are being worked on as quick as they can be. Developers of things like that didn't get much chance to see source and such before the release, so now have to redo their whole programs.

Just be patient

It took me forever to get Steam to work. I had to reinstall it at least five times, restarting tons of times each install. "Error: no children registered" - WTF

However, now that it's working, I'm actually starting to like it. The friends list thing is kinda nice, and the new interface for the games is slick.

As for CS 1.6, it's pretty decent. The remade maps are slick (new aztec is like OMGPWN), new weapons are kinda cool; in the end though, it's still CS, and I still prefer NS.

wtf, now i have a new problem, i guess it was making a new random update after it was working the other day, and then the comp go turned off half way threw or somethin, and now when i try to use it it just goes "updating steam, please wait" but it doesnt do anything, if i minimize it, it goes the system tray, and sits their for 10 hours being at 43% the whole time,

yea, i think im about to uninstall all my HL, CS, DoD, and steam files

does anyone else have loads of problems trying to work steam? i try opening it and it says my internet connection aint working when it is. why they introduced steam ill never know.

They introduced it as a better way to update both clients and servers for multiple mods. I have no problems with it btw.
