http://www.truenuff.com/blog/images/posts/xmasbegins.gifThis year's TrueNuff Comic Christmas story (http://comic.truenuff.com/comic.php?day=20071211) has kicked off - what happened to Jay? comedy that's what! More on that as the story unfolds...

Taking a trip down memory lane it seems that in 7 years we haven't done an actual Christmas story. In 2003 we did 23 single panel Christmas comics (http://comic.truenuff.com/comic.php?day=20031201) for December and that was great fun but it wasn't really a cohesive story from start to end. It seems that holes in our development, our spotty updating/writing and other time consuming life stuff didn't allow us to be focused enough to plan Christmas stories with any regularly.

Well, we done change all that and now we (http://comic.truenuff.com/authors.php) regularly meet every two weeks to write and develop the comic - so we should (in theory) be able to do a Christmas story for y'all every year (y)

Doin' our best to keep the holidays happy.

I don't think its ever sunk in that there wasn't a Christmas story line, or maybe I've always been to distracted by the Halloween storylines instead. I still remember the 2003 run of panellers. My gosh I'm old! lol

Ah yeah, Slaine ol' buddy. I remember the winter of ought-three. It was a particularly cold one, I remember because my rickets were actin' up.

I remember Jeff not being there! :p

Even with Halloween there's only been a couple REAL Halloween stories - we're re-focused now though so expect one every year :)

Was there ever a plan to make the 1 panel ones into Christmas cards? I think I remember talk of it, but not positive.

Threeboy

There were plans, or e-cards even - but not enough time this year. Maybe something for next year :)

We don't really have the funds to do a card run right now - and considering how poorly the shirts are selling it wouldn't be the best investment right now :p

SiegeTheGrave
09-13-2008, 09:30 AM
always comin up with more excuses every year, geez!

Threeboy
09-13-2008, 01:20 PM
Slaine said we could do it a strictly pre-sale option - that might work.

SiegeTheGrave
09-13-2008, 02:33 PM
yes indeed, i think that would work for me :)

J.Rai
09-13-2008, 02:52 PM
Or just find a method of on-demand publishing.

Sláine
09-13-2008, 08:40 PM

Would a folding card be better - or a double sided non folding card?

J.Rai
09-14-2008, 03:57 PM
I would vote for traditional folding card. Color front, text inside.

Sláine
09-14-2008, 05:34 PM
Agreed. A non-folding one can't be put on the mantelpiece without falling over!

Luke__C
09-14-2008, 08:32 PM
very true Slaine... and when it comes right down to it, how many cards you have on top of your tv/mantle is the onyl true indicator of how cool you are...

SiegeTheGrave
09-15-2008, 12:51 PM
damn right! i'm down for the folding ones as well

Jess

SiegeTheGrave
09-16-2008, 11:52 AM
maybe you can, but i highly doubt that would be an option for the rest of us :p

Threeboy

Threeboy
11-13-2008, 03:39 PM
here's the news straight up:

cards - probably not. shirts ain't selling, we're not putting any efforts into merch until we recoup some losses.

comics - definitely no Christmas story this year, but we're making an effort for at least a 5 story arc before the end of the year :)

Luke__C
11-13-2008, 04:40 PM
ah the loss recouping...
i feel your pain...
my housemate and i had "a meeting" to discuss how the fuck we're going to pay back the $4.5K we lost on our last gig...
its not pretty...

Snuffy
11-17-2008, 10:18 AM
You should try the pumpkin-spice eggnog latte! It tastes like you're drinking pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top...Im getting all excited just thinking about it. Thats it, Im heading downstairs to the coffee shop!

Jess
11-17-2008, 11:05 AM
not alcomaholic, no, but asooo darishus! i'm not so sure how i'd feel about mixing the two, though, since alone they're my two faves...but then again that sounds like a possible recipe for AMAZING.

Snuffy
11-17-2008, 11:18 AM
Not just a possible recipe for amazing, but an actual one. Trust me, its wonderously amazing. I LOVE them! As soon as the 'nogg hits the shelves thats all I order. That's how I keep my amazing level so high (cause lets face it, I'm fucking amazingly amazing; yet strangely I'm not conceited at all!)
