I just found out that Hanukkah started last night! Of course since it's on the Hebrew calendar, the date moves around, and today is the first full day.
As I was Googling (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Hanukkah+greetings&btnG=Search) and Wiki-ing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanukkah) Hanukkah greetings and finding out about the various contexts that they could be offered in, I realized there's too much opportunity for me to look stupid or possibly even offensive - hah! - so I'll just wish all our friends celebrating a Happy Hanukkah from all the TrueNuff Crew members.

I talked briefly to my one Jewish buddy and it turns out I made myself look kinda dumb. But I won't say how because you're all goy like me.

That's what I thought too but wikipedia suggests that "Chanukah" is a a valid alternate spelling.

From http://www.holidays.net/chanukah/spelling.htm as possible spellings you could encounter:
* Chanuka
* Chanukah
* Chanukkah
* Channukah
* Hanukah
* Hannukah
* Hanukkah
* Hanuka
* Hanukka
* Hanaka
* Haneka
* Hanika
* Khanukkah
I've only ever seen a couple of those. Guess I now have a different spelling for each day of the holiday. ;)

Essentially the translation from Yiddish (?) is a phonetic one and subject to interpretation.

To quote Penny-Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2001/06/06), "Why can't he be the King of Pants?"
