View Full Version : Production Drawings For Sale
Threeboy

Long time readers (all 3 of you) may remember when we had donations for the comic and the donors would receive production drawings as a thanks for donating. Those production drawings have made their way back to the site, but this time around we're selling them as products (http://comic.truenuff.com/drawings.php). We're a formalized company now and donations don't fit into the tax scheme.

If you're looking to help us out in a financial way (that would be awesome) then buy some today!
Will make funny for food.

Since the pricing is in quantity of alcohol, can the drawings come with pictures of y'all drinking down the appropriate donation? ;)

These are not donations, but they're the closest things to donations we'll have ;)
We had donations in the past but "donations" comes off as a lame cash grab.
If these production drawings don't tickle your fancy we'll have real merch for sale soon enough (y)

Don't sell this short. Production drawings are awesome merch for any collector and fan of the comics. Especially for the reasonable price you put them at.

They're basically a formalized donation though, so you were kinda right.
The problem in the past was with donations people felt like we owed them something. This way, they buy production drawings, we give them production drawings and that's the end of that.
It's clean cut transaction, and fits in our business records :)

About the tax, it was unclear which canadian would be taxed. I just bought a pack, but nothing about taxes was brought up to my attention. I guess it's because I'm a quebecer. Wheee !

Thanks though, you're the first to buy! :)

Hey James - would it be possible to buy a set of drawings from conception to completion?
The reason I ask is that I have an 11yr old neice, Emma, who is right into drawing & developing her own cartoons and I'm sure she would love to see the development process by an established artist
How much would postage be to Oz?
Threeboy
11-25-2007, 11:25 AM
Postage to Oz is still a flat $2.50
I can give you a pair of pencils & inks that are from the same comic - then tell you what comic they're from :)

cool - can you please make a pack of 6 drawings - maybe a pencil & ink pair and some showing characters in different poses - is that do-able??
Threeboy

Yep!

The oddest thing, the sketches we sent you have the name "emma" in them - they're from this comic (http://comic.truenuff.com/comic.php?day=20071101) - the candy bag that brando holds says "emma" but you can't see them in the comic ;)

#1 in our hearts ;)
Also you Aussies got a fast buyer discount! I've bumped the shipping to $3 and added a buck to the pint pack because money was getting eaten in fee's, shipping, etc!

The only result we have is 3 sales :p
I'm tossing around the notion of signed prints of comic strips.
After comic #500 I plan to bump up the resolution I create the strips so prints and comics in the second book will look better :)
