Hey, everybody. I'm Steve from Baltimore, MD. It looked like you were having so much fun that I thought I'd sign up and join in. Hope to talk to y'all soon.
PS: I'm kind of jealous of all the Canadians here. It's been 6 years since I've been there and I miss some of the best microbrews I've ever had.

Official welcome to our forums! :D
I often think we're spoiled with our Beer here, then again I wouldn't know as the only place other than Canada I've drank in are USA and China.
Also kickass quote in your sig :D

Beer, Much Music, health care, government... until recently I'd even put up exchange rate, but nothing is perfect. ;)
As for the sig, thanks. Found it many years ago and it was just too good to let go.

gss_000, quick question: are you up on the baltimore-club scene? (The music, not the clubs, themselves, explicitly)

Are you serious? Noooooo! I loved that station when I was up there. It was the only place I could see actual music videos. Argh!

Not really. I should be more, but the clubs I go to usually are more straight dance with standard DJs than actual musicians, although this may change over time. I did get to hear DLake recently, and he was pretty good. If you mean local bands, I'm even less up on it although I did get to see Kix recently and they were fantastic.
Always willing to learn, and I do have friends who are more into it so I could find out if needed.

If you want to watch music videos there's the internet now ;)

True, and that is what I have been doing for the most part, but it's a lot more work than just plunking yourself in front of the TV and spending an afternoon watching music. Not to mention quality of the video is poorer on the internet than TV, music industry crap, etc.
Maybe it's mostly nostalgia, but it's the format I prefer. In this rare instance, I'm semi-Luddite.

Get Much Vibe or whatever. They still play a lot of music. Vintage Vibe is a really amazing program. (Well.. not that you even have that option being from b-more)

Vibe is a genre channel though. I remember watching shows like The Wedge, and two hours of Videoflow, and just getting to see cool videos. Now yeah, it's all cut up with crap like the OC and VH1 reality crap and stupid text messages that you can send it to "get ur msg on tv" - crap crap crap. I found some of my favorite bands on the Wedge. I guess that's what the web is for now.

I'll have to check those out.
When I moved out here to Baltimore there was a station called The Box that was a video jukebox where you could request the videos you wanted to see. Since anyone could call in at any time, there was a wide variety of music from urban to metal to pop. It was even used to promote local bands, as the Bloodhound Gang was discovered because they were extremely popular in the Philadelphia area. For awhile I was in heaven because I could watch videos again. However they were bought out and became part of MTV2 and then proceeded to suck.
