Obviously it's a matter of resolution, but it's cool to see that the old films can be converted to HD and get so much better in quality. It's a cool side-by-side for comparison. Funny how the DVD version is so much more colour saturated though.

In standard definition you can't see Leia's diabetes either, but now in HD you can.

They just scan the phsyical film at a higher resolution probably.
