The whole crew had a great weekend in Whistler, and we have some great stories to tell. More on that in a sec, but first to business.

The Windward Film Contest (http://tv.truenuff.com/windward/) that we are currently in is going well! We are holding a steady second place from week to week thanks to your votes (Remember, we need you to vote every week!). However, we're going for FIRST PLACE - we're going to do that with your help, and we're going to give back to you all to do it. We have increased the prizes (http://tv.truenuff.com/windward/contest.php) we're giving away in our own contest to stuff you actually want (http://tv.truenuff.com/windward/contest.php)!

First prize is now a Nintendo DS game system (http://www.nintendo.com/channel/ds), as well as the T-Shirts, the autographed "pregnant" prop box from our entry sketch (http://tv.truenuff.com/windward/iheartwindward.php) and new TrueNuff Stickers!

Second prize is an iPod Shuffle (http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/), the autographed prop box (non-pregnant), Tees and stickers!

And there are also other prizes of shirts and stickers to be had as well and all you have to do is forward us your registration email from the Windward voting system (http://www.windwardreports.com/vote/register.aspx)! (And promise to vote for us, since, no, we can't really tell if you do or not, but PLEEEAAASE DO!)
Read about our whistler adventure...
Anyway, on to anecdotes!

"...and we will be welcomed as liberators" --GWB

OK, so perhaps the concept of "TrueNuff invades Crankworx (http://www.truenuff.com/crankworx.php)" was a little prophetic. Not so much in the sense that we swarmed in and took over, as much as we were not really welcome from a.... legal standpoint.

Threeboy, the Rob and myself arrived on Friday and set up camp (read: checked in) and were just prepping for the first wave of spectacle. We donned our moose hats and sombreros, and were quickly joined by Brando, fresh from the house of Yellow Pages. The comic crew (http://comic.truenuff.com/authors.php) had arrived.
We chose to leave the waterguns behind for the time being, and the weather in Whistler was a little cloudy and it was not as hot as we were hoping, and as such the "spontaneous water fight" angle might be viewed as more of a "assault with a soggy weapon." As we hit the streets, things started going very well, we gave away stacks of stickers, talked to some cool people and hopefully encouraged them to vote for us in the Windward film Contest (http://tv.truenuff.com/windward/) and win some cool new prizes.

After dark, Cranston and Moze arrived, still nursing their scars from being shackled to a furnace all day. They hit the streets with us as the bars came to life and we gave away MORE stuff, took/posed for photos and witnessed a few fights (woo!).

The next day started promptly after lunch. We got in some great street-beat time meeting lot of people and talking with various vendors, sponsors and riders (oh yeah, the whole "bike thing" (http://www.crankworx.com/)!) and were chatting with a cop explaining for a twelfth time that "No, we're not a stag party" when he mentioned we might want to be careful because there was a possibility that what were were doing wasn't exactly legal.

You see as it stands, Whistler (http://www.whistler.ca/) is a city, but it is a special case. It's a resort town, and many of its promenade streets are a special kind of public-private property that is essentially rented out. So even though we were just walking around the streets of a city meeting people and handing out free stickers, the city (at the time) was basically wholly rented out to the Crankworx event (http://www.crankworx.com/) and it's sponsors, which makes us small-time goofballs out to be interlopers on their audience's mindshare.

Long story short (well, I guess it's a little late for that now) we later ran into that same cop and he told us that he found out that what we were doing was indeed in violation of a Whistler bylaw and that Bylaw Enforcement was "looking for us." Now, to give the Mountie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountie) some credit, he recommended we hide the hats and go change out of our matching shirts so they didn't find us (apparently my moose antlers were one of the things mentioned on their APB (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_points_bulletin)) and so we all quickly de-chapeau'd and made a bee-line for our lobby, but we didn't get too far before we were intercepted by a young lady with a badge-shaped patch on her shoulder and a mean-looking notepad.

Bylaw enforcement.

Now we had seen B.E. officers all over the place all weekend and they didn't seem to have any problem with us at all, but either someone had complained or we were suspected of being in competition of an official sponsor (I guess we were too good at gaining visibility) - at any rate, Bylaws told us to pack it in or else were were going to get fined, and since there were six of us, at any number I'd imagine six fines would add up fast so we said we were already packing it in and they let us go.

In the end were did get some serious face time in with "the people" and we hopefully met some new fans (though we probably weren't too convincing when we told people we were a comedy group and they said "Oh yeah? Say something funny!") - and now we have a lot of leftover stickers for more giveaways via upcoming events or as prizes in our own contest.

If anyone we met in Whistler is here now, welcome, check out the community in our forums, the comic, the videos, and the contest. Drop us a line too, so that we know how you found us!

Oh yeah, and Whistler: See you next year. ;)
