TOO MUCH! God damn I was fucked this morning. My girlfriends bathroom is really small and I remember telling her, "Hey, this would be sweet if you ever get sick because you can take a shit and puke in the sink at the same time!". Words of wisdom everyone. Words of wisdom.

Outback steakhouse is nothing like Australia hahah you can't even get a vegemite sandwich for one thing, and what the fuck is Kookaburra wings? Quail would have more meat on them! And they're "Mushies" not "'Shrooms"! :p

Guiness, Kilkenny and White Ale last night at the TN dev. meeting.

Secoh
11-02-2007, 03:36 PM
It's a very gamey taste. I'm told it's a bit like venison, but a stronger flavour (the few times I have had venison I think I was robbed as it tasted like beef to me...)

You have to cook it on a low heat slowly, otherwise it turns to construction material. Cooked slowly it's very tender. Very very low fat, and can carry far less disease than pork and even beef.

MulletMan
11-02-2007, 06:55 PM

what kinda drink is that???

1 oz peach schnapps
1 oz Jagermeister
cranberry juice

Variation have crown instead of the scnapps, or canadian whiskey and southern comfort for the jager and cranberry.

It's a very easy shot to take, and a good one for doing with people who aren't big on shots. For us that night, it also had the bonus of getting the attractive waitress to do them with us. :)

MulletMan
11-15-2007, 10:27 PM

J.Rai
11-16-2007, 08:42 AM
A.k.a. Rye. When we went to Seattle last year and tried to order a Rye the bartender looked at us like we were speaking another language. We finally asked for "Crown" and the guy said "Oooohhh!" and said it was "Canadian Whiskey."

Which is funny because in Canada "whiskey" is the same product as American "whiskey" too.

Sláine

I had two Laphroigs. Second was on the rocks. First, and the Tamdhu, were both with a little bit of water. People looked at me like I was on drugs... "Where's the lemonade/coke/dry?", then I gave them a sip, and they realised why it was just a little water.... ommigoshsogoodialmostdied!

billabongbabe

Good for you, coke is good for absolutely nothing, dry is good for average scotch, who drinks lemonade with scotch?, so on the rocks is the only way to go for the good stuff!

I'm drinking sparkling shiraz at the moment. Was difficult to find but eventually got a bottle for the weekend. I REALLY like it, good suggestion peeps!!

what one did you get Jess? An Aussie one?

Jess
03-03-2008, 12:09 PM
Nah, they actually only sold one kind (despite apparently having 4 kinds and plenty of stock on their website, arg!) and it was from BC here.

Booze in the mail is hard to accomplish I hear. But I haven't tried or know anyone who has. The only things I remember about Sparkling Shiraz on here were warnings against it though, Jess! Not reccomendations!

Last thing I drank were probably Sleeman Ambers. In the midst were Vodka Red Bulls. It went on and on, and then Rock Band happened. I'm sick now - not barfy sick but I have a bad cold. Sucks.

I have a question,
Drinking with friends on the internet, while technically being alone in my room. I'm not really alone right? I don't want to be an alcoholic!

I think the last drink I had was probably red wine, but I had bourbon on ice with the internet a little while ago...

Threeboy

Aren't those scotches? I know Glenfidditch is.

My dad is learning to be an old man and getting hard into the scotch. I support him all the way. (Not to say that only old men drink scotch, real men do too).

Sláine

Scotch is whiskey.

Whiskey is the family that encompasses Scotch, bourbon and Irish whiskey. They are all made very similarly, altho each has its own little nuances that make it different from the other types.

Scotch is traditionally made using the Scottish method, shock horror, which is why the Japanese Whiskey you can get is called a scotch as well. Its made the same way, with the first practitioner in Japan actually being a Scot living there.

Luke__C
03-19-2008, 11:36 PM
they boy knows his whiskey!
I often have to tell that very same story Slaine...
People always say stuff like
"nah, bourbon isn't whiskey, whiskey is whiskey"
*sigh* uncultured folk...

MulletMan
03-20-2008, 12:19 AM
Haha, yeah I knew they were all whiskies. I just think the distinction is important. This is because, being a naiive soul from Canada, I ordered a rye and coke in Mexico and got undrinkable pisswater. Or pisspop. Whichever.

The distinction is important.

I need to go to bed I'm incoherent even by my own reckoning

J.Rai

Rye is Whiskey too. In the states it's safer to ask for "Canadian Whiskey" to get what we know as Rye, or even just ask for Crown Royal. We just sneaked across the border and asked for Rye in Seattle and the bartender looked at us funny and said "You want what?"

SiegeTheGrave

Started with some Gibsons finest with cola.

Went to the bar, drank double-ryes all night.

Got back to buddy's house, drank half a 60 of Absolut between 4 of us, plus more rye.

Then apparently we started wrestling, shirtless. Somehow my foot ended up through my friend's wall. Twice.

My first memory after that is walking home with no shoes on in 3 inches of moist fresh snow. Still shirtless.

Rough night.

A bunch of free Corona at lunch today

Luke__C
06-16-2008, 08:44 PM
Well, it IS Corona after all... why anyone would actually PAY for that rubish is beyond me... I mean, if the "traditional serving" of a beer is to add lime to take away the evil taste of the beer, that says alot about the beer now doesnt it?

J.Rai
06-16-2008, 08:49 PM
Rye & Coke for me.

I heard somewhere that the real reason for the Lime is just to rub around the mouth of the bottle to kill off any bacteria that may have come from dirty water in the cooler (when served in Mexico) - jamming the Lime wedge in the bottle has never been condoned by Corona, because they can't recycle the bottles as easily when there's fruit stuck in it.

Luke__C
06-16-2008, 08:54 PM
i'd heard something similar, but it was to kill the bacteria in the beer...

Right. Now as an anti-viral, it's perfect. Got rid of a cold with a couple of Red Deaths, or at least that is the story I'm sticking to.

Last thing I drank, a few Yeungling beers and then something we call Rocket Fuel (a home concoction that involves dry ice and grain of some sort) and then some other things my friends mixed but I have no idea what they were.

Gets better Billabongbabe.

Last night I started on Bundy. Then moved to Jamesons once happy hour finished. Then met other friends at the casino, who felt they needed to buy drinks for me. FOUR Chivas Regal 21 year old whiskey on ices later, we went home, where I had a couple of glasses of very nice red.

Today I've been at a wedding all day, sucking down Leasingham Shiraz/cabernet all day.

My liver is broken!

I'm finding I can't do Bundy much any more either. It just tastes bad compared. But $3.5 for a bundy vs $8 for a Jamos at that place..... Just clad it was only for an hour.

Wedding was at Ayres House. A function centre in Adelaide.

lemme guess here poeple... cheap and nasty wins most of the time doesnt it?
especially when theres a whole night to consider...
