When I watched The Omen, I made a mistake, I got BAKED and watched it for the first time, never even heard of it till i rented it, so I didn't know what to expect, goddamn I was on the edge of my seat all the time, that kid is a lil fucker geez! Posiden I was Generally lucid and sober for, but I didn't realize till the second time watching it, that "Fergie" from Black Eye Peas is in it. shes got big boobs...

There is a statue here at legislature of him. The book " A Man Called Intrepid" talked about his life as a spy and the creators of James Bond based their character on him. If thats not enough google "Sir William Stevenson".

I know of Fleming's quote of "James Bond is a highly romanticized version of a true spy. The real thing is... William Stephenson" but that very statement points out the DIFFERENCE betweent he characters, not the similarities. Fleming working in intelligence for years and knew many agents and was probably (as any good writer should be) inspired by several if not dozens of different people to create his composite character.

If you guys can you should check out an Aussie film called "The Magician". It was a very low budget film (about $10-$20 thousand). The story is pretty much a mock documentary of a guy following around a professional hitman.

Extremely funny, especially for an Australian audience so I wouldn't be too sure how it would translate for guys like you. I'd say it would still be worth the view if you could get your hands on it.

Daniel Craig was brilliant. I'm hanging out for 300, now, and am looking forward to the Ninja Turtles at the end of the month.

I rented Little Miss Sunshine the other night, as well. Thought it was great. Americans doing subtle humour well is a rare achievement.

I watched For Your Consideration last night. It's a movie that was done by the same good people who did Waiting for Guffman, Best In Show and A Mighty Wind. It was funny, but not the best out of the four.

The Crew (including The Rob) and some friends caught the IMAX version of 300 Friday. T'was mad fun. I still don't get the spear as a primary melee weapon though, but maybe I just lack training.

Lord of War is a really good movie.

Last movies I saw were Violent Cop (Takeshi film), Seven Samurai and Irreversible (Moncia Bulluci). Irreversible is one disturbing film.

Caught the first 10 minutes of Rove, then had to fix a mates net, so stopped watching it. Was a bit meh about it really. Rove hasn't done that much for me since he was on Good News Week.

Mind you, Pete Hellier has turned into a tubby bitch since they were last on. Maybe his response to Belinda Emmett dying was to eat lots of babies or something.

I saw Hot Fuzz for the third time yesterday. tee hee. I less than three that movie so much!

One of the trailers was for 300 tho. First time I've seen the trailer in the cinema. So very nice. And the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack to the trailer always makes me smile. Shame its not in the movie apparently.

300 opens here on Thursday, I can't wait. I'm REALLY tempted to go see it at midnight with a mate.

Yeah, I saw a short spot for 300 on TV last night - first time I'd seen one.

Still gutted we had to wait this long for it - reading about how awesome it is every time I e-go anywhere. I'll go Thursday night, after work - up to the Hyperdome. I want the biggest, manliest of screens for this one.

Finally saw 300. It was good.

But I think the anticipation had built up too much. I think I was expecting it to be the ultimate film to beat all films. Which I didn't find it did.

There were a few bits in it, where I got that guy-smirk on my face, when something ultra-cool happened, and I liked Leonidas's smart-arse conversation with Xerxes, but... yeah.

Visually, I thought it was incredible, and there were a couple of shots that I'll have to put in my all-time favourites list.

With all the time I've had, waiting around for it to come out, I've done quite a lot of reading on the Battle of Thermopylae, ancient Sparta, Xerxes, Leonidas, and everything involved. I guess I wanted more depth to the film, with more attention going into the history of Sparta, the battles Xerxes father had fought prior to this, and I thought, in parts - particularly with the Oracle, and the priests - the stylisic approach was taken too far, as it made absolutely no sense.

Most people in the packed theatre laughed, when that executioner was shown. The fat dude, with blades for arms. Sometimes I thought it just went too over the top to be cool anymore.

But, for what it was made to be - an entertaining slow-motion battle of good versus evil - it was a lot of fun. And, like I said, it did have a few of those ultra-cool moments.

Also Brando and I saw the new Transformers trailers today. I've accepted that that movie will not be a translation of the cartoon show, which I'm okay with, because I'm not expecting it.
