i'm sure you've all heard about this already but i wanted to make a thread about it. i loved dimebag, he was most definitely one of the greatest metal guitarists, and such a nice, caring guy in person. i heard about him being shot about 2 hours after it happened on the radio and i almost started crying. i went to this memorial thing the next night at this club him and his brother vinnie paul owned. lots of people there, tons of flowers and stuff. i was really upset about it, but his music will live on forever. i miss him.

Actually, my dad met Pantera, and said that the guys were real assholes. Although it's quite possible that it might have just been the other guys.

it was probably Phil and Rex that were the assholes, they seem like assholes. everyone i know that's met dimebag and vinnie said they're really nice guys. do stuff for charities, let fans come party at their houses and shit. i heard this morning that there was a memorial service after the funeral at the convention center last night, i'm pissed i didn't hear about it before cuz i would've went. grrr.. oh well. still love and miss him.

I'm surprised you didn't hear anything about it. A couple of guys came into my store from New Jersey asking for directions to Dalworthington Gardens, so that they could go to the memorial.
yeah...i heard about that (his death) i was like...aww wtf why do all the great artist have to be shot!?:( he will be missed he was a great dude

yeah, well i hadn't really listened to the radio or anything all day that day so i knew nothing about it. i was with my family the whole time. but oh well. i heard there were people standing outside waiting for like 5 hours to get in. and since it was cold, i doubt i would've really wanted to do that. although i do love dimebag and his music. his music and memory will live on forever in my heart.
i've noticed more people listen too bands if a member is dead/ or died,
eg. pantera, nirvana, Tupac.

i wouldn't say they listen becaue they've died - bands that were rising and had a loss get lots of buzz.
