Howdy!

Since DrumAddict was nice enough to ask for a thread about myself (and he asked in spanish too! What flare!), and since I have a large quantity of college homework to procrastinate from finishing, I may as well go for it.

The names Ryan French, though I go by the alias Frenchi for business or internet purposes. Im a full time student at Indian River Community College here in Florida, majoring in graphic design. Im also a full time dishwasher at a BBQ restaurant, though most of the time Im working Im actually playing hackey sack with the cooks out back.

I draw comics on lots of mediums; paper, photoshop, flash, etc., and put a bit of my work online. I wont dish out advertising in the forums, but I'll have my ad running at the top again as soon as my next paycheck rolls in.

(Note to Threeboy: I havent forgotten to renew my advertising, I just have a steep car insurance bill to pay this week and I spent more money than I ment to on kendo gear. Whoops. Ill get your payment out on the 20th, gives me time to get a new banner ready anyway.)

I practice kendo and general swordfighting on the side, though I dont get to play as often as Ide like to anymore because of my schedual. If I had to pick a specific style I follow, I'de guess a personal adaptation to the Ni Ten Ichi Ryu (Book of Five Rings, Miyamoto Musashi, if you're familiar with either). Ide like to take Kung Fu or Ju Jitsu lessons as well, but I wont hold my breath =P

My plan so far is to transfer to a university to grab a bachelors degree, then get the hell out of Florida. Too damn hot here, dont like the people =D My girlfriend wants to move to Canada, I wouldnt mind but I know switching residency to a foreign country is a pain in the rear. If we did though, I'de definetly head to the Vancouver area. Its like Seattle, only in Canada.

What else... Im a very musical person, I dabble in everything. Piano, guitar, drums, violin, digital music (with FL Studio). Ide like to learn to play the cello some day as well, always loved the deep sound of a cello.
I play paintball occasionally, nothing professional, not even official, since theres no arenas withing 50 miles of where I live. I just run through the woods with my friends and get welted up.

Drums are the latest instrument I've picked up, and thustly my worst instrument. But I gotta start somewhere I guess.

Aw, I love Canada. Its so boring and sparsely populated =P I cant stand most Americans, but I must say theres a hell of a lot more to do here. Maybe Ill just move to the far north and drive into Canada whenever I feel like a trip.

And as for the paintball, its fun every now and then, but I wouldn't try getting into anything big with it. My equipment is terrible and I dont have the kind of team dynamics it takes to play well. Its just exciting to shoot your bud in the stomach with a paintball and watch him keel over in pain.

A-thank you. Say Threeboy, theres a Canadian beer im sure you've heard of, Labatt Blue. Have you tried it? I've heard people say its the best beer they've ever had, but I can't seem to locate it down here in Florida. Wondering if its worth driving around looking for =P

welcome Frenchi! i used to play cello way back in the day when i was in elementary school. it's a beautiful instrument. and i must say, i was damn good at it for a 6th grader! even had a solo of "grandma got ran over by a reindeer" at our christmas concert. anywho, i would've kept playing but they are just too damn expensive so i picked up the trumpet instead. and there's nothing wrong with canada, don't listen to drumaddict.

Do we really have to go through this again? I don't have any problem with Canada or even Canadians. It was just that after that commercial came out, every Canadian in the world was posting it everywhere they could find and talking about how true it was. Considering the whole thing was about how great Canadians were and basically how America sucked, you can see how that got on my nerves. So it's not all Canadians that bother me, or even most, it's just the arrogant ones.
