I'm startin to get SOOO mad, I installed Half-Life and I wanted to play CS so I downloaded is from their official site or what ever, and I needed steam so I got that, and now it's saying I have to put in my CD key, and I do and it says it's invalid? I can't play CS and I'm startin to get pissed! Anyone know why? Besides that Steam is a Steaming pile of shit?

Did you already create an account on steam using that cd-key? You can only have one account per cd-key.

I had that same problem - try to think if you made a account off of that key.

If not - sorry bub you'll have to buy another CD Key.

For the record, Steam is a very, very nice product - it's got some kinks to work out, but it's truley a great idea that just has some problems - like anything else.

i like steam is not bad for some things, like updating games and messagin, but i dont think i like the way to get into a multi, but since i couldnt cuz my cdkey was used by someone else im screwed

Thats another Flaw of Steam, in 1.5 if ur cd key is in use, you wait till it isn't, but in Steam if it is in use you have to go buy another one.

The only way it can be in use is if you already have created an account using your cd-key or somebody stole it. I doubt it is the latter.

Or if your computer gets a Virus and you have to format and reinstall everything including steam which askes you to enter your CD key in even if you alread have an account, but then tells your your cd key is already registered but you already know that because you registered it beofre you had to format, but now your forever fuxt up the USB port becuase Steam thinks someone else is using your cd key
