"Setup Cannot read a required data file. Your warcraft 3 cd may not be in the cdrom drive. please ensure that this disc is in the cdrom drive and press retry. to cancel the operation press cancel"

Is your cs in the drive?

Make sure your cd isnt scratched or damaged in any way.

if you have two cd drives try the other one, my old-yet-faster CD rom does not like to install Blizzard games so i have to use my slower-new one.

well, if your cd is damaged, i would suggest buying a cd repair kit. a good one is, "digital doctor." it does wonders...

otherwise, like jeb said, try a different cd drive.

if one of your friends has a copy, try theirs.

maybe reformat? reformating does the world good!

If the scratches aren't too deep, try pouring a bit of water on the surface of the disc. The water will fill the cracks and stay put because of surface tension, and the reader usually can't tell the difference. This saved my butt on numerous occassions. It may or may not work, though - it's failed for me just as many times as it worked.

put water on the scratch side or the pretty side?

what i do is i lick certain parts of the disc and use my shirt to buff out scratches and such.

noone in my family believes me that it works, but I have a track record of 19 successful cd recoveries, and 7 successful DVD recoveries.

So :P

Who said I was dead??

Was there a post or something on it?

Jeez, you go away for a month or two and your dead.
