I had this happen to me today. I went to Electronics Botique to reserve Resident Evil 0 and the guy goes off about X-Box and its marvels. My friend was looking at a X-Box game and he says thats a great game and my freind says "I am a PC Gamer." X-Box Man follows up by saying "The X-Box is just like a computer. It has a harddrive and everything. Youd Love it!"

Last christmas a guy did that to my dad at target. My dad said he he got an xbox because, "The gamecube looked like it would break easily".

Sure, XBOX is closer to a PC than any console, but that doesn't make it any better. That just gives it the cons of both a console and a PC, making it crap. Gamecube is much, much better in my opinion.

And besides, If you're gonna get a half-assed PC-wannabe like an XBOX, why not just get a real PC?

i hate the "xbox is better, no cube is" if you didnt play either one or another just dont say anything bad about any of them. As for me, I own an Xbox and am very satisfied with it, graphics are awsoeme in most of the games ( of course every console got its load of crap) and a great online play (i got my beta kit and i an say playing online is great, with no lag :D) as for the PC ressemblance, well basically every console is a pc in a box (duh..) graphics card, controller port, modem (add-ons for some) processor so even the gamecube is a small pc, then i must say that ive tried gamecube and it is also great. Exept for the controllers, there too small and i hate the controls its badly designed (thats my opinion) but smash Bro's owns. So you see, stop the hate.

I know I'm never going to win the PC versus Console argument, but I'm a CS (Computer-Science, the other CS) guy so I sorry if I try occasionally (really, sorry).

Anyhoo, I have played on Xbox before and find the controller too big, and I love the gamecube controller. I guess I just have small hands. BTW, I read somewhere that the Xbox is way less popular in Japan 'cause it's so big, and so are its controllers. The article said that the gamecube was more well receieved because A)It fit in the tiny living space peeps in Japan have, B)The average Japanese person has smaller hands than the average American person, and likely C)Xbox is imported there. I'm not making this up either.

Anyway, the whole thing is just opinion. I still don't like Microsloth and thier WinBlows (aka "Digital Herpes," as my linux friend calls it) either. And I don't like how they made Halo into a console game but still haven't released the damn PC version which was supposed to have come out already. So maybe I just hate Microsoft. But that would leave me in the proverbial pickle 'cause I'm always arguing for the PC.

Oh well, screw it. I'll just be a hermit. :?

i too am a computer science and engineering technology major..so yeah.

yeah, i am more of for PC over console games. I like sporting games on consoles much better...but other than that...i prefer the computer games.

i know i know...consoles are made for the sole purpose of gaming, which gives them a leg up..kind of...but i just like the PC stuff better.

I like the xbox over the others for several reasons.
1) I love the controllers. they're comfotable anf they fit me well.
2) I really like the games. halo, amped, nfs hot pursuit 2, and morrowind.
3) I like the idea of not having to buy those god damn memory cards.
4) Runs smoothly and ive never had any of those problems that they used to have when they first released.(ie. No freezing, skipping etc.)

i really dont care if its a bit bigger. its bigger because it has more stuff.

i love my xbox and i cant wait for live! :)

In gaming (but not XBox news), the Natural Selection mod for Half-Life should be coming out in about a week. It's gonna be sweet. It combines a sort of AvP atmosphere shooter with an overhead commander mode RTS, and all the graphics and artwork look excellent. And, of course, it's free. So anyone with a decent PC and a copy of Half-life or CS should go to www.natural-selection.org (I am not affiliated with them in any way, the game just looks so damn cool).

I think he could be "okay". I'm sure he would win if he ran, but a lot of fat cat white politicians would probably get spooked and order a hit. In any case, he is still a republican, and a supporter of Bush. Whether he wants to support Bush or kinda has to is not known, but in anycase I wouldn't vote for him.

I dont understand Bush's logic. He rambles on and on about Iraq and how much of a threat they are but he couldnt give a shit about North Korea who is closer to USA and it would be easier for them to attack us but neither of these countries have threatened the United States. It was also kind of cheesy about him calling my house on a recorded message.

as for the pc / console war i like a bit of both, im not a gamecube fan which seems to be the thing in this forum and playstation 2 is japanese and stuff and has some cool games, but x box also has some phat games im not a nintendo fan cuz of the repetitve games, after mario kart 18 and donkey kong adventures 32 it gets a little redundant, i think im playing the same game over and over again, and dynasty warriors 3 is a great game for the ps2 people out there, phat game phat graphics.
