It can get boring sometimes. The trick is to have a really good DM and creative players. After all, the goal of the game is to "role-play," so people involved can't be afraid to try their hand at a little acting. A fun group of players can make a paper-and-pencil game immeasurably better than a video game RPG.

I suppose. I didn't mean anything personal by it, I've just seen people who get too wrapped up in that stuff. They base their whole sense of self on the fact that their barbarian could kick your paladin's ass. No thanks. I enjoy an escape from reality just as much as the next person, but eventually you have to pull your head out of the clouds and get down to the business of real life.

Note: I had the same sort of problem in high school, but not with D & D. It was with band. It really threw my life off and now I have to mend my fences, so to speak, so I speak from experience.

i agree right now me and my allies are going through a tower and it's nuts it has 100 floors and we got through 5 but...tis a mission to get to the surface world right now we are stuck in the underground with gnomes havoc and drow (trolls too)

well in truth in order for them to get here they need a priest of pure good and a wizard of emmence power and pure evil to open the portal and the DM is going by the book by the gods thingy and as for a challenge the battles we in are like CR 15 and our group is CR 7 (CR=challenge rating)

Getting off the topic of D&D for a sec, when I went to Victoria for a B-ball tourny, we went in the McDonalds, and it was a huge one. There was 6 tables filled with kids playing Pokemon cards, 3 tables playing Yugioh cards, 1 table of DBZ cards, 4 Warhammer tables, and one of.....I don't even know! 8O So I have decided that Victoria is a city full of nerds, and that McDonalds should sponsor the companies and become the official restaurant of nerds.
