It does look pretty cool. I didn't like plain BF1942 partly because it was so damn corny, but BF Vietnam looks like it's going to both be cooler and play better than the original. It'll be interesting to see how piloting jet fighters and helicopters in BFV compares to doing the same thing in Desert Combat.

BF1942 is a great game! I have yet to meet someone who didnt log at least a FEW hours into it when they first started playing.

hmmmm well....come to think of it...i WAS at a Counterstrike Lan...so everyone was prolly just really bored of CS and moved on to whatever game was there....

but! that doesnt mean that I dont think the game kicks ass!

Ok bf1942 was mediocre.

But this is gonna rock.

Not only if there 40 vehicles, over 50 guns, 16 different character classes each with 2 weapon sets you can choose from.

Also, 6 or so different nations, AND a new rendering engine.

The belt buckles even Shine!!!!

PLus theres gonna be actual music from that era, availble in vehicles and stuff!

Im gonna preorder so i get the soundtrack, and camp outside eb and wait for them to open.

BF1942 was corny because it was just so bizzare from a realistic standpoint. The overall tone of the game was just goofy. Now, I can understand why they made the gameplay the way they did, but they could have done a lot more work to make the game less stupid. Example - until recently, the Russian Assault class used a BAR. Uh, what?

Still, like I said, Vietnam is going to be much cooler. I can only hope they make a proper control system for the helicopters, instead of the mostly bizzare system done for the Desert Combat mod.
